Developing Christ-centered character, leadership, and life skills
North Texas Pathfinders is a Christ-centered, adventure-driven club for young people ages 10-15, dedicated to developing character, leadership, and life skills. As part of the worldwide Pathfinder organization under the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we encourage spiritual growth, outdoor exploration, and community service.
1
Outdoor Adventures & Survival Skills
Pathfinders is all about exploring the great outdoors! We organize camping trips, nature hikes, and adventure activities that teach survival skills such as fire building, tent setup, orienteering (map and compass reading), and emergency preparedness.
Our outdoor programs help young people develop confidence, responsibility, and teamwork while enjoying God’s creation.
2
Leadership & Character Building
Through teamwork-based activities and leadership training, Pathfinders develop critical skills such as problem-solving, communication, and decision-making. Every club member has opportunities to lead, whether by organizing events, teaching skills, or taking on club responsibilities.
These experiences prepare them to become future leaders in their communities, churches, and beyond.
3
Spiritual Growth & Faith Development
At the core of Pathfinders is our commitment to growing in faith. Weekly meetings include Bible study, prayer, and discussions about Christian values.
We also engage in worship services, outreach programs, and church events where young members strengthen their faith and develop a deeper understanding of God’s plan for their lives.
4
Skill Development & Honors Program
Pathfinders can earn a wide variety of honors—skill-based achievements in areas such as first aid, cooking, photography, public speaking, knot tying, environmental conservation, and much more.
These hands-on learning opportunities help youth discover new talents and interests while reinforcing their knowledge of practical life skills.
5
Community Service & Outreach
Service is a key component of Pathfinders. We actively participate in local service projects, including:
• Assisting with food banks and shelters
• Organizing community clean-up efforts
• Visiting nursing homes or assisting the elderly
• Engaging in disaster relief efforts
• Supporting church and community programs

By giving back to the community, Pathfinders learn the joy of service and develop a heart for helping others.
6
Camping, Hiking & Expedition Challenges
We believe that spending time in nature strengthens both body and mind. Our expeditions range from beginner-friendly day hikes to more challenging multi-day backpacking trips.
These experiences teach resilience, teamwork, and appreciation for God’s creation while helping Pathfinders earn adventure-related honors.
7
Team Competitions & Fun Activities
Pathfinders also participate in exciting team challenges, including Bible quiz bowls, drill team performances, obstacle courses, and friendly competitions with other clubs.
These activities help reinforce teamwork, discipline, and the ability to think under pressure.

Many former Pathfinders continue to serve as club staff or leaders, helping to guide the next generation.
